Job description

Position Summary

  • Answer calls in a courteous, professional, efficient, and prompt manner
  • Pre-registering new patients into the Epic EMR system
  • Schedule patient appointments using the Epic EMR system
  • Verify patient insurance/benefits, as appropriate
  • Respond to patient inquiries and complaints
  • Direct patient phone calls to the appropriate destination when beyond scope
  • Complete outbound calls to patients to schedule future appointments
  • Return patient calls/messages and provide additional information as necessary
  • Adhere to all HIPAA and ACCESS policies regarding patient privacy
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

ย 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two yearsโ€™ relevant experience in customer service (health care preferred)
  • Willing to work flexible hours
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills
  • Medical terminology knowledge preferred
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) requiredย 

Schedule

  • Training for 4-6 weeks on site at 3450 S Archer Ave, Chicago, IL 60608 from 8:30am to 5pm M-F.ย 
  • Potential opportunity to work remotely after successfully completing training.
  • Regular shift after training will be 10:30am to 7pm M-F and rotating Saturdays 7:30am to 4pm.

  • Health Center environment occasionally
  • Local travel between health centers and community events is required; mode of transportation required
  • If personal vehicle is employed, a current driverโ€™s license and proof of insurance is required
  • If remote/hybrid; requires suitable and secure working environment, acceptable internet speeds, adequate childcare provisions
