About Empowered Services 

Empowered Services provides one-on-one in-home and community-based support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our focus is to hire and train Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help people build independence, maintain routines, and stay connected to their communities in meaningful ways.


Role Overview 

We are hiring an entry-level Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide consistent, structured care for individuals of all ages in the Yamhill County area. (No prior DSP experience required – paid training provided.)    


This role centers around: 

  • Supporting daily routines and household structure 
  • Assisting with community-based activities and errands 
  • Encouraging independence while maintaining clear expectations 
  • Behavioral support 
  • Emotional regulation 
  • Crisis support 


This is a strong fit for someone who is consistent, patient, and confident maintaining boundaries in a supportive way


Here are some examples of the current customers that are available:

  • Customer 282: Adolescent male in Estacada who requires assistance with emotional regulation, supervision while eating, medication administration and monitoring for elopement. You schedule may look like: Thursday 4pm-9pm
  • Customer 232: Adolescent male in Lake Oswego that needs assistance with clear communication and structured transitions. Monitor for physical aggression towards siblings, self harm when upset and redirecting verbal aggression. Your schedule may look like: Monday-Friday 3pm to 7pm and every other weekend for 4-6 hour shifts each day
  • Customer 446: Adolescent female in Lake Oswego needing assistance with every day life skills, prompting with hygiene reminders and cues to remind about chores. This customer is very active and loves to draw, do crafts and read. Your schedule may look like: Monday-Friday 9am to 4pm for the summer. Schedule will change during the school year. 


  What You’ll Do 

  • Support daily living routines (meals, hygiene, organization) 
  • Assist with community access (shopping, errands, outings) 
  • Provide emotional regulation support using calm, structured approaches 
  • Maintain clear boundaries and consistent expectations 
  • Assist with household upkeep and organization 
  • Encourage independence and personal responsibility 
  • Communicate updates with care teams and complete required documentation 
  • Help maintain a safe, predictable, and respectful environment 


  Compensation & Benefits 

  • $23–$25 per hour (based on experience and qualifications) 
  • Paid training

  • Comfortable supporting personal care needs  


Preferred: 

  • Experience in caregiving, DSP, behavioral support, or IDD roles 
  • Experience supporting individuals with I/DD 
  • Strong communication and boundary-setting skills 
  • CPR/First Aid certification
