Job description

Camera Vision System Engineer

Hybrid in Chillicothe, IL. A couple of days in the office, the rest working remote.

Interview process: Virtual phone interviews. Possible 2nd onsite interview.

Required:

  • The individual must have a Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent technical field with 2 years of relevant engineering development work experience in software development, system design, or product validation of perception systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering development work experience in software development, system design, or product validation of perception systems.
  • Linux OS experience
  • Experience programming in C++, and/or Python
  • Analysis, and troubleshooting skills are required.
  • Experience with software development tools such as git, debuggers, and compilers.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in the areas of robotics, remote control, or autonomy
  • Experience with datalinks (CAN, Ethernet, etc.) and associated tools (CANape, Wireshark, etc.).
  • Ability to focus on multiple priorities and help where needed
  • Experience with a version management tool.
  • Willingness to work on a diverse team.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Great teamwork, communication.
  • The individual should be a self-starter, highly motivated, able to learn at an accelerated pace, and willing to put in the time to get the job done.

Candidate Responsibilities:

This position is for a camera vision system engineer to support the remote control and semi-autonomous machine systems. The individual hired for this position will work as part of an engineering team to design, develop, integrate, and test of a camera-based vision system for remote control applications used equipment in a mining or construction environment.

Typical Day:

Work within small team developing (designing, coding, integrating and validating on bench or machine) camera based vision systems for remote control applications used equipment in a mining or construction environment. All features are validated in lab. Follow Agile bi-weekly sprint environment.
