Job description

Job Summary
The Lead Carpenter is responsible for managing day-to-day job site operations, performing skilled carpentry work, coordinating crew members, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within quality standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who takes pride in craftsmanship, communicates effectively with team members, and can solve problems with the support of company leadership.


Duties

  • Lead and supervise crew of carpenters and laborers on residential and commercial construction projects.
  • Perform all aspects of carpentry, including framing, trim, doors, windows, and general remodeling work.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate daily job site activities to maintain project schedules.
  • Ensure work is completed according to company quality standards and building codes.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and material needs with project managers and company leadership.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
  • Contribute to a positive and enjoyable work environment.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout project completion.
  • Train and mentor less experienced carpenters and crew members.
  • Manage materials, tools, and equipment efficiently.
  • Interact professionally with clients and represent the company positively.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of carpentry experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership or crew management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience in remodeling, custom homes, or light commercial construction.
  • Knowledge of multiple trades, including drywall, painting, flooring, or tile work.
