This hands-on role requires a skilled professional who can independently manage maintenance tasks across various locations within an assigned territory, ensuring all facilities meet company brand standards, regulatory requirements, and operational excellence. This position serves as a key partner to Retail Operations, Construction, Real Estate, Design, and Finance teams while coordinating vendor performance and delivering cost-effective facility solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesFacilities Operations Maintenance
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment across multiple locations within assigned territory
  • Ensure reliability of critical systems including lighting, emergency power, security, and safety systems across all assigned properties
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement
  • Execute repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently to minimize downtime and disruption to operations
  • Maintain building exteriors, grounds, and common areas to company brand standards
  • Support production-critical utilities and equipment in manufacturing environments, where applicable
  • Respond promptly to facilities issues impacting store operations, delivering timely resolution while minimizing business disruption
Equipment and Systems Management
  • Monitor and maintain facility equipment to protect Ashley's physical assets and enhance the in-store customer experience
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, equipment specifications, repair histories, and asset inventories
  • Utilize Corrigo or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to manage work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and asset records
  • Generate reports and analytics on facilities performance, costs, and key performance indicators
Safety, Compliance Risk Management
  • Ensure all facilities comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations and building codes, including life safety, environmental, OSHA, and ADA requirements
  • Perform safety inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Maintain fire safety equipment and emergency preparedness plans
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations and coordinate response activities for facilities-related emergencies
  • Document and report safety concerns, code violations, inspection reports, and safety certifications to management
  • Implement corrective actions to address safety violations, compliance gaps, or regulatory deficiencies
  • Maintain accurate compliance records and comprehensive documentation
Vendor Contract Management
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors across multiple trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, general maintenance, landscaping, snow removal, etc.) for specialized repairs and maintenance services
  • Support vendor performance management to ensure service level expectations, response times, and quality standards align with Ashley's performance benchmarks
  • Assist with competitive bid evaluation for facility repairs and service contracts
  • Maintain vendor documentation, insurance certificates, and compliance records in accordance with company standards
  • Support execution of Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and vendor contracts in partnership with management teams
Project Support Space Management
  • Assist with facility improvement projects, renovations, and equipment installations
  • Provide input on maintenance-related capital improvement needs and support long-term facility planning initiatives
  • Support equipment installations and facility modifications as needed
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Retail Operations, Construction, Real Estate, Design, and Finance teams to support store openings, remodels, relocations, and ongoing facility enhancements
  • Ensure minimal disruption to store operations during construction, maintenance, or improvement activities
  • Manage project timelines and communications to ensure successful project delivery
Budget Financial Management
  • Support operating and capital budget management for facilities and maintenance across assigned territory
  • Assist with invoice processing and validation to ensure cost accuracy and proper coding prior to payment authorization
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality and asset protection standards
  • Support forecasting of future maintenance needs, capital expenditures, and resource requirements
Required QualificationsEducation and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in facilities management, building maintenance, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive facilities or maintenance experience in retail, manufacturing, distribution, or commercial environments
  • Experience working across multiple facilities or locations preferred
Technical Skills
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and OSHA requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Corrigo, FMX, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance principles and asset management best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical certification or vocational training in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or related field
  • HVAC certification or EPA certification
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
  • Experience with building management systems (BMS) and building automation technologies
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Facilities Management Professional (FMP) certification
  • Experience in multi-site retail facilities management
  • Forklift certification
  • Familiarity with retail or warehouse facility operations
  • Knowledge of energy management, sustainability initiatives, and green building practices
  • Familiarity with construction project management and contractor coordination
  • Knowledge of fire protection systems, security systems, and life safety equipment
Work EnvironmentThis role operates in a combination of office and active facility environments including retail stores, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities. The position involves exposure to moderate to high noise levels, temperature variations, and industrial equipment in operation. Work is performed in various environments including offices, warehouses, retail spaces, and outdoor areas with exposure to varying weather conditions.Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and prolonged periods of standing or walking on various surfaces. The role requires regular travel within assigned territory, including overnight stays, with a minimum expectation of two site visits per year for each location.
