Multi-Family Housing Apartment Relocation Specialist
Position Summary
The Multi-Family Housing Apartment Relocation Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing resident relocations associated with renovations, capital improvement projects, emergency repairs, or redevelopment initiatives. This position serves as the primary point of contact for residents throughout the relocation process, ensuring compliance with company policies, applicable housing regulations, and fair housing laws while providing exceptional customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate temporary resident relocations in accordance with company policies and project timelines.
  • Meet with residents to explain the relocation process, timelines, eligibility requirements, and available assistance.
  • Conduct pre- and post-move inspections of apartment homes and document unit conditions.
  • Schedule move dates and coordinate with moving companies, maintenance teams, contractors, and property management staff.
  • Assist residents with completing relocation paperwork, agreements, and required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate resident files, relocation logs, and tracking reports.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local housing regulations, including Fair Housing requirements.
  • Respond promptly to resident questions, concerns, and complaints while providing timely resolutions.
  • Coordinate utility transfers, key exchanges, parking assignments, and other move-related logistics.
  • Work closely with property managers, leasing staff, contractors, and project managers to minimize disruptions to residents.
  • Monitor relocation budgets and process relocation-related invoices and reimbursements as assigned.
  • Prepare reports detailing relocation activities, project progress, and resident status.
  • Conduct follow-up with relocated residents to ensure satisfaction and address outstanding issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information and company records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree preferred; equivalent work experience may be substituted.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in multifamily property management, resident services, relocation coordination, housing programs, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of multifamily housing operations and resident relations.
  • Understanding of Fair Housing laws and applicable landlord-tenant regulations.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and property management software (such as Yardi or similar systems).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.
  • Experience coordinating resident relocation projects during occupied renovations or redevelopment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Experience working with affordable housing, LIHTC, HUD, or public housing programs is a plus.
  • Project management or relocation coordination experience is highly desirable.

Working Conditions
  • Primarily works in a residential apartment community environment.
  • May be exposed to occupied construction or renovation areas.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to accommodate resident move schedules or project deadlines.

This role is non-exempt with a pay range of $20 - $25 an hour for a new employee depending on a number of relevant factors including individuals' experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, client/property or company budgetary limitations/guidelines, and other job-related company and market considerations. You may be eligible to receive discretionary and/or performance-based bonuses on a spot or annual basis, which are variable depending on individual merit/performance, budgetary limitations, company performance, and other job-related factors. This non-exempt role will be eligible for overtime for all hours worked in excess of 40 per week. Full-time positions (30+ hours/week) are eligible for 2 weeks paid vacation, sick and related leave, 11 paid holidays, and health & welfare benefits as outlined on the Company's website.
