Job description

The Relocation Manager serves as the Driver and Accountable leader for the Relocation team, ensuring effective workforce planning, performance management, and day-to-day operational execution. This role is Accountable for all employee and departmental relocation activities across the studio lot and drives the planning and execution of moves, ensuring seamless coordination across service providers and alignment with project timelines and client needs. The position manages the Furniture Inventory & Logistics Foreperson and coordinates closely with the Sr Furniture Manager to ensure alignment between inventory strategy and day-to-day relocation operations. A strong customer service orientation is essential, with a focus on delivering high-quality, responsive experience to internal clients and stakeholders. Additionally, the Manager is Accountable for executing within established budgets, contributes to operational planning, and partners with leadership as a Consulted stakeholder on broader facilities and workspace initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Relocation & Furniture Inventory & Logistics Team Leadership and Operations

  • Accountable and Driver for Relocation team performance, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and workforce planning (Union Local 724 team)
  • Partner with the Relocation Foreman to ensure appropriate crew size, effective scheduling, and alignment to business demands
  • Manage the Furniture Inventory & Logistics Foreperson and ensure strong coordination between Furniture Inventory & Logistics and Relocation teams
  • Drive client engagement; act as primary point of contact for relocation services, ensuring clear communication, expectations, and service delivery
  • Align with Relocation and Furniture Inventory & Logistics Forepersons on requirements, priorities, and execution plans to ensure successful delivery of services
  • Establish expectations for safety, professionalism, and customer service; address performance gaps and reinforce accountability
  • Ensure crew adherence to safety protocols, training requirements, and company policies
  • Drive operational improvements; identify inefficiencies, reduce redundant efforts, and enhance service delivery
  • Create annual Relocation M&R operational budget (Driver) with Accountable (Sr Manager) final review and approval

Relocation / Move Management & Capital Projects

  • Day-to-Day Relocation / Move Management (Driver)
    • Drive execution of moves initiated by internal clients
    • Ensure destination readiness and coordination of required services
    • Partner with Foreperson to ensure high-quality execution and service delivery
    • Track costs and provide updates to stakeholders, particularly for larger or billable moves
  • Production Offices, Events & Miscellaneous Work (Accountable / Consulted)
    • Accountable for relocation services supporting production offices, internal meetings, and event setups/strikes
    • Act as Consulted partner to align requirements, logistics, and timing with stakeholders
    • Develop quotes, track costs, and manage billing as required
  • Capital Projects (Consulted Contributor)
    • Act as Consulted contributor within capital projects, partnering with project teams to support relocation scope
    • In conjunction with Relocation Foreperson, develop cost estimates/quotes and manage work to budget
    • Track and maintain alignment to budget; process change orders for added scope as necessary
    • Support space clear-outs, furniture and equipment move (excluding specialized assets), and labor support for construction, furniture, and other teams
    • Align relocation and move activities with construction schedules and project timelines

Project Management - Applies project management principles to support planning, coordination, and execution of relocation and operational activities. Demonstrates the ability to work both autonomously and in partnership with key stakeholders and external vendors to deliver effective outcomes.

    • Review and create financial package
  • Scheduling
    • Coordinating team to consolidate activities and build schedule
    • Schedule management
  • Communications
    • Report out of overarching budget/schedule
    • Create and manage executive communications
    • Create and manage communication plan
    • Develop and coordinate logistics plan
  • Project Closeout
    • Financial closeout coordination and report out
    • Post-project evaluation: completeness, quality, livability of initial scope (input to poss. future scope)
    • Closeout documentation coordination (e.g., PDFs, manuals, CAD drawings, warranties in binder), survey clients

Learning and Development, Shadowing and Mentorship, Coaching and Mentoring

Requirements:

  • 5-7 Years of relevant experience in Facilities, Workplace Services, Relocation or Related Operations
  • 3-5 Years of team leadership experience, union crew experience preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in facilities operations, relocation/move management, or related workplace services required.
  • Previous experience in entertainment, facilities and/or construction company and specifically with Union Local 724 a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is necessary, pivot as necessary being proactive & reactive simultaneously
  • Strong computer application skills with an aptitude to learn new programs required.
  • Must know how to use all Microsoft Office programs, inclusive of PowerPoint - proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and presentation programs.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Archibus, and Ariba systems a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
The anticipated base salary for this position is $101,700-$127,100. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
