What you can expect to be doing:
The function of the Project Engineer is to plan, organize, and control the activities of the project to best accomplish the successful completion of all projects to which assigned while operating within the guidelines established by the Project Manager, and within established schedules, budgets, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) policy constraints. Typical projects will entail municipal water, sewer, and roadway infrastructure, dams, site planning, and stormwater management. You will work in a team environment on a broad range of engineering projects from planning through implementation.
Responsibilities
  • Supports project team toward preparation of a professional, economical, and effective set of plans and specifications for each individual project.
  • Conducts engineering computations to design difficult and complex engineering projects.
  • Communicates directly with governmental/regulatory staff relative to design concepts and requirements. Represents clients at regulatory agency hearings or meetings.
  • Performs overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans) and reports regularly on project status to Project Manager.
  • Monitors compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
  • Responsible for the design concept of the plans and specifications.
  • Consults and advises field engineers, contractors, and inspectors regarding the construction phase of the project.
  • Communicates with the Project Manager on project strategy and matters that may impact the outcome of a project.
  • Assists in preparation of project proposals including scope of work, time schedule, and manpower estimates.
  • Promotes new business for the total company and for own area of expertise.

What you will need to succeed:
  • BS in Civil Engineering required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license with a minimum of 4 years of related experience OR Engineer in Training (EIT) on track to attain PE license with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Sound mathematical skills are required.
  • A working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Valid driver's license & reliable transportation required.

A criminal background check and driving record check will be conducted.
