Job description

General Internist / Internal Medicine Physician

High-Demand Outpatient Opportunity in Ontario, Canada
Location: Oshawa, Ontario, Canada | Greater Toronto Area

Neobridge Healthcare is recruiting American-trained Internal Medicine Physicians / General Internists for a high-demand outpatient opportunity with an established clinic group in Oshawa, Ontario.

This opportunity is designed for physicians who want to step into a busy, well-supported outpatient practice with strong earning potential, flexible work options, and no hospital obligations.

For U.S.-trained physicians looking at Canada, this is a compelling opportunity to build a productive outpatient practice in one of Ontario’s largest and most in-demand healthcare markets.

Why This Opportunity Is Attractive for U.S.-Trained Internists

This role is especially well suited to American internal medicine physicians who are looking for:

  • A high-demand outpatient practice model
  • Strong patient demand from day one
  • No hospital call, no inpatient rounding, and no ER coverage
  • A focused adult medicine practice built around cardiometabolic care and diabetes management
  • Flexible practice options, including virtual, hybrid, or fully in-office work
  • A predictable daytime clinic schedule
  • Strong administrative and clinical support
  • The opportunity to establish a long-term practice in Canada

This is not a low-volume or exploratory medicine role. The clinic has a clear outpatient focus, established referral demand, and a practice model designed to support efficient, sustainable practice growth.

Practice Setting
  • Community-based outpatient internal medicine clinic
  • Located in Oshawa, part of the Greater Toronto Area
  • High-volume adult medicine practice
  • Fee-for-service compensation model
  • 70/30 split
  • No hospital work
  • No overnight call
  • Flexible work model: virtual, hybrid, or in-office
  • Standard clinic hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 1-hour lunch break
Role Summary

We are seeking an Internal Medicine Physician / General Internist to join a busy outpatient clinic with immediate patient demand.

The practice is focused on adult outpatient internal medicine, with a strong emphasis on cardiometabolic health, diabetes management, hypertension, dyslipidemia, obesity-related care, and complex chronic disease management.

Physicians will work in a well-organized clinic environment with the administrative support, patient flow, and referral volume needed to build a strong outpatient practice.

This is an excellent fit for a physician who enjoys seeing medically complex adult patients, wants to avoid hospital-based responsibilities, and is interested in building a high-performing outpatient practice in a supported clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive outpatient internal medicine care for adult patients
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Manage patients with diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, obesity-related concerns, and other cardiometabolic conditions
  • Support longitudinal care for patients with multiple comorbidities
  • Order and interpret laboratory investigations and diagnostic testing
  • Develop treatment plans and manage follow-up care
  • Coordinate referrals where appropriate
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the clinic EMR
  • Work collaboratively with clinic staff to provide efficient, high-quality care
Practice Highlights
  • Outpatient-only internal medicine
  • No inpatient responsibilities
  • No hospital call
  • Immediate patient demand
  • Established referral flow
  • Strong opportunity to build a full outpatient practice
  • Experienced administrative and clinical support
  • Flexible virtual, hybrid, or in-office structure
  • Predictable daytime schedule
  • Clinic model designed to reduce operational burden and support physician productivity
Compensation

This is a fee-for-service opportunity with a 70/30 split.

The clinic has strong patient volumes and referral demand, creating meaningful earning potential for physicians who want to build a busy outpatient practice.

Qualifications
  • MD or equivalent
  • Training in Internal Medicine
  • U.S.-trained physicians are strongly encouraged to apply
  • CPSO licensure, or eligibility to pursue licensure in Ontario
  • Strong clinical judgment in outpatient adult medicine
  • Interest or experience in cardiometabolic care and diabetes management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Patient-centred and collaborative approach
  • Senior physicians are encouraged to apply
Why Consider Ontario?

For American-trained physicians, this opportunity offers a pathway to practise in a high-demand Canadian market while maintaining a familiar outpatient internal medicine scope.

You will have the opportunity to build a long-term practice in a major metropolitan region, supported by strong clinic infrastructure, a clear patient base, and a practice model that allows you to focus on medicine rather than hospital obligations or administrative burden.
