Lifeworks is hiring an Awake Overnight Teacher/Counselor (Residential Counselor) to work with Individuals with ID/DD in one of our Residential Programs. We are a nonprofit human service agency that provides adults with developmental disabilities with the opportunity to live engaged and meaningful lives. We're searching for an enthusiastic individual who will bring their personality, an independent work ethic, and a strong belief in enhancing the lives of those we serve. *Candidates must have related or direct experience working with the community we serve.
Please note: this position requires you to be awake for the entire shift of your overnight schedule.
Essential Duties:
  • Responsible for assisting with all hands-on direct care which includes but not limited to: showering, toileting, shaving, brushing teeth, meal-time assistance
  • Collaborate with an exceptional team to plan and engage in the advocacy and support of our individuals.
  • Promote optimal health for individuals through routine, preventive, and emergency health care.
  • Provide support through case management, mobility and transfer assistance, incontinence care, meal preparation and facilitation, organization and maintenance throughout the home, and life skills coaching.
  • Communicate and collaborate with persons significant to individuals.
  • Help individuals lead more independent and secure lives in their communities.
  • Other duties and/or assignments at our different locations based on the needs of the team and the individuals you serve.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with Individuals with ID/DD
  • High School Diploma, related experience preferred.
  • Must be able to pass Fingerprint background check, CORI, DPPC and Driving background checks
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Valid MAP certification is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
