Job description

Overview

Join the $4.6B SR 400 Express Lanes project in Atlanta-one of the largest roadway projects in the United States-delivered through a public-private partnership led by FlatironDragados and ACCIONA. This landmark infrastructure project includes the design, construction, long-term operation, and maintenance of the corridor for 50 years, transforming a critical route and supporting mobility in one of the nation's fastest-growing regions.

The Utility Relocation Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of utility relocation activities within one of the project segments. This role requires strong leadership and stakeholder management skills to ensure that utility relocation works are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements

What you will be doing
  • Lead utility conflict assessments during pre-design, design, and construction phases.
  • Oversee the relocation of electrical transmission and distribution, gas, telecom, water, and sewer utilities in coordination with agencies such as ONCOR, ATMOS, Verizon, AT&T, and municipal engineering departments.
  • Collaborate with design and procurement teams to integrate utility requirements into the overall project scope, schedule, and contract documentation.
  • Facilitate pre-construction, task-specific, weekly, pre-walkthrough, and final walkthrough meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, and utility owners.
  • Prepare, review, and manage utility department budgets and supervise project scheduling and cost control to maintain alignment with milestones and client requirements.
  • Guide and mentor a multidisciplinary team, including surveyors, superintendents, and project engineers.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to project scope, timelines, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with city agencies, state authorities, and private utility companies to obtain permits, approvals, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with project owners, design consultants, and construction management teams to align expectations and proactively resolve issues.
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in infrastructure projects, with at least 3 years in utility relocation management.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale design-build or P3 projects
  • Strong understanding of electrical, gas, telecom, and water/sewer utility systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, contracts, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with clients, subcontractors, and public agencies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills developed to engage and retain positive working relationships while effectively delegate task driven responsibilities to project personnel. 
  • Proven ability to identify, track and manage project risk.  
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including advanced skill working in Excel.
