What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a relocation director, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Relocation Director, you need expertise in real estate, relocation processes, and strong organizational skills, often supported by a background in business or real estate and relevant certifications like CRP (Certified Relocation Professional). Familiarity with relocation management software, CRM systems, and industry compliance tools is typically required. Outstanding interpersonal communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities help you build client trust and manage complex moves smoothly. These skills ensure seamless relocations, high client satisfaction, and efficient team coordination in a competitive market.

What does a relocation director do?

A relocation director is responsible for an array of tasks involved in managing real estate owned (REO) properties. As a relocation director, your duties include conducting recruitment strategies and hiring new workers, developing new services for marketing, managing the vendor network, training new hires, tracking leads, reviewing new listing and sales contracts, and working with transfer clients. You handle incoming and outcoming referrals and monitor cost reports. You work with real estate agents as well as clients, handle management responsibilities, and assist other staff members when needed. You also handle REO properties after unsuccessful sales at foreclosure auctions.

What are some common challenges faced by a relocation director and how can they be managed effectively?

Relocation Directors often face the challenge of coordinating complex moves involving multiple stakeholders, tight timelines, and varying client needs. Managing expectations and ensuring clear communication between clients, agents, and service providers is critical to success. Staying organized through detailed planning, leveraging relocation software, and fostering strong relationships with relocation partners can help overcome these obstacles. Additionally, being adaptable and proactive in problem-solving helps maintain client satisfaction throughout the moving process.

Job description

Director of Operations
Doral, FL (On-Site) | Full-Time | Relocation Provided | National Search

Bloom Talent Solutions specializes in connecting top-tier professionals with industry-leading companies. We are proud to present this exclusive search on behalf of a well-established and growing critical power services company headquartered in Doral, FL.

This isn't a role for someone looking to maintain the status quo. The company's Doral headquarters needs a dedicated operational leader — someone who thrives in a fast-paced, founder-led environment and is ready to build the infrastructure that fuels the next phase of growth. If you're a hands-on operator who wants a direct seat next to the CEO and the autonomy to make real decisions, this is your opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day operations including dispatching, scheduling, workflow management, and resource allocation across the field engineering team
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable a growing team of field service engineers across multiple tiers (FSE I through FSE IV)
  • Build and optimize operational processes, SOPs, and systems to support company scaling and next-level capacity
  • Manage service delivery quality, SLA compliance, and customer satisfaction metrics
  • Partner with the CEO on strategic planning, capacity forecasting, and hiring priorities
  • Coordinate with the Regional Service Manager on field operations and technical escalations
  • Drive accountability and performance management across the organization
  • Manage vendor relationships, parts inventory, and equipment logistics
  • Report on operational KPIs and identify areas for continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in field service operations
  • Background in UPS/critical power services or adjacent industries (HVAC, generator/power generation, data center operations, or similar field service verticals)
  • P&L awareness with a clear understanding of how operational decisions impact revenue and margin
  • Proven ability to build operational infrastructure in a growth-stage environment — not just manage existing systems
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to command respect from technicians and field staff while maintaining accountability
  • Comfortable operating in a privately owned, founder-led environment with high visibility and direct CEO access
  • Willingness to relocate to South Florida (Doral) — company-paid relocation provided
  • Ability to commit to daily on-site presence at the Doral headquarters
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact, #2 operational role at a growing company where your decisions shape the business — not just maintain it. If you're ready to build something that lasts, we'd love to hear from you.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $140,000 – $160,000 depending on experience
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Company-paid relocation for qualified candidates
  • Direct report to CEO — high visibility and decision-making authority

How to Apply

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply through Bloom Talent Solutions. Please submit your resume and a brief summary of your relevant operational leadership experience.
