Summary Director of Hotel Facilities

Salary: $150,000 - $170,000 + Relocation Assistance Available

We are seeking a Director of Hotel Facilities to join the property's Executive Leadership Committee and serve as the strategic leader responsible for the performance, safety, reliability, and long-term stewardship of the resort's physical assets.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role offers significant exposure to ownership groups, regional and corporate leadership, and provides the opportunity to influence major capital investments, renovation projects, sustainability initiatives, and long-term asset strategies.

What Youโ€™ll Lead

As Director of Hotel Facilities, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for all engineering, maintenance, utilities, life-safety systems, capital planning, and facility improvement projects throughout the property.

Youโ€™ll be responsible for:

Strategic Leadership & Asset Management
  • Serve as a key member of the hotel's Executive Leadership Committee.
  • Develop and execute long-term asset preservation and capital improvement strategies.
  • Partner closely with ownership, corporate engineering, and hotel leadership to prioritize investments and maximize asset value.
  • Lead annual capital planning and budgeting processes.
Engineering & Facilities Operations
  • Oversee all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, life-safety, and energy management systems.
  • Ensure exceptional reliability, safety, and operational performance across the property.
  • Direct preventative maintenance programs that protect both the guest experience and the hotel's physical assets.
  • Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Capital Projects & Renovations
  • Lead major renovation, infrastructure, and property improvement projects.
  • Manage contractors, consultants, architects, engineers, and vendors.
  • Review contracts and negotiate project modifications, timelines, and scope as needed.
  • Partner with corporate teams on remodeling initiatives, property enhancements, and large-scale capital expenditures.
Team Leadership
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and inspire a high-performing engineering team.
  • Create a culture grounded in Hyatt's standards of service, safety, accountability, and excellence.
  • Lead safety programs, emergency preparedness planning, and compliance training.
  • Mentor future engineering leaders within the organization.
Ownership & Stakeholder Partnership
  • Regularly communicate project progress, facility performance, and capital recommendations to ownership and corporate stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with building officials, planning departments, zoning authorities, and design review committees as required.
  • Ensure projects meet quality standards, budget expectations, and regulatory requirements.
What Weโ€™re Looking For Required Qualifications
  • Significant leadership experience overseeing hotel, resort, commercial, healthcare, higher education, or large-scale facilities operations.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex building systems and facility maintenance programs.
  • Experience leading capital projects, renovations, or large infrastructure initiatives.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience developing operating and capital budgets.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Knowledge of building codes, life-safety requirements, regulatory compliance, and risk management practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hotel, resort, or hospitality engineering leadership experience.
  • Experience managing utility and energy management systems.
  • Equipment specification, procurement, and vendor management expertise.
  • Opening, repositioning, or major renovation experience.
