The Role at a Glance
As a Paralegal, you will play a key role in supporting the Litigation team within the Group Protection Legal & Compliance Department by conducting legal research and assisting with a broad range of litigation and departmental activities.
What you'll be doing


   Researching, reviewing and analyzing group insurance litigation files, understanding the content, applying critical thinking/analysis to case facts in accordance with Department processes.
   Coordinating, researching and organizing discovery as requested.
   Performing accurate benefit calculations and presenting values related to litigated files in accordance with Department processes.
   Researching and responding to subpoenas and related requests.
   Issuing and monitoring litigation hold orders.
   Completing legal research requests as assigned.
    Performing other duties and projects as assigned.

What we're looking for

   Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate with minimum 3 years relevant experience is strongly preferred
   5+ years of experience in group insurance/financial services industry a plus
   Experience in group insurance claims management a plus
   Litigation support experience preferred
   Ability to draft succinct and appropriate business letters and emails
    Demonstration of excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with professionalism and discretion
    Experience managing multiple tasks effectively and showing strong flexibility
   Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
   Proficiency with business unit systems (AWD)
   A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations
   Possesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distractions
   Drives performance targets to completion

The pay range for this position is $29.05 - $38.74 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
