Job description

Responsibilities
We are looking for a Relief Supervisor to join our team at our Festus, MO Plant. The Relief Supervisor will be responsible for supervising employees and overseeing plant operations on a rotating shift basis. They will maintain good equipment records and reports and will oversee the operation of the entire plant to ensure safety, quality and environmental standards are maintained. Candidates must be willing and able to work rotating shifts.
The Relief Supervisor will receive direction from Production Supervisors, Production Manager, Production Superintendent and Process Engineers and will be responsible for:
Operating the plant to provide the maximum operating time and production within the established environmental limits and quality standards.
  • Following company standard operating procedures for plant operations while ensuring efficient utilization of equipment.
  • Ensuring all employees and contractors conduct their tasks in a safe manner consistent with company policies and MSHA regulations.
  • Keeping records of equipment operation and reasons for production delays in the company database software.
  • Working closely with the Process Engineer to implement continuous improvement of the plant operation.
  • The safety, work direction, co-ordination of the Control Room Operators.
  • Directing personnel to ensure the orderly operation of the plant.

Qualifications
โ€ข A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency
โ€ข 2 years supervisory experience or 5 years working in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
โ€ข Ability to work rotating shifts to support 24/7 plant operations
โ€ข Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
โ€ข Basic computer skills.
โ€ข Strong decision skills, with the ability to function successfully in a stressful environment.
