Job DescriptionThe Program Manager V manages the overall execution of the project and coordination of the project team by communicating with stakeholders, managing project reporting on deliverables, supporting project delivery and aligning with the company's overall goals.
Responsibilities- Establish effective project or program oversight and other governance bodies, and engage the appropriate stakeholders to support the direction of the project or program, and enable a superior customer experience
- Develop complex project plans to support successful project delivery
- Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget
- Engage project stakeholders and communicate project updates to ensure buy-in and project success
- Manage expectations of all project stakeholders, at all levels, from the project team to the project executives
- Manage multiple projects, project resources, and project governance
- Manage project resources, including procuring, developing, motivating, coaching, and advising project staff
- Mentor, coach, and assist in directing the work of several project managers and team members, each responsible for an element of the project and its associated project team
QualificationsExperience:
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in a specialized functional discipline. OR (14) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree. OR (8) years of experience may be considered w/ a Masters Degree. OR (5) years of experience may be considered w/ a PhD.
- Bachelor's degree in Business / Commerce or Engineering
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing program financials (EACs, variance analysis, margin) and building solid business cases
- Experience leading proposals and participating in contract negotiations, with the ability to connect program execution to growth opportunities
- Ability to operate as the primary customer interface, build strong relationships, and effectively manage customer expectations at a senior level
- Advanced risk and issue management capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating program risks
- Solid understanding of DoD program management processes, compliance requirements, and execution within regulated environments
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey program status, risks, and strategies to both internal leadership and customers
- Experience managing larger or more complex programs (ideally $1M+), including multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
- Preferred but not required:
- PMP (or equivalent) certification
- MBA or MS in Engineering Management as a strong differentiator
