Job description

Role: SRE Engineer

Location: Austin, TX

Salary: $100000 to $115000/Annum

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a skilled and motivated engineer with a strong background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, and GitHub Actions to drive automation, enhance reliability, and optimize the efficiency of development and operations pipelines using cloud-native methods and modern continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and optimize highly available, scalable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools (like Terraform, Ansible, Chef).
  • Develop, manage, and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, integrating automated testing, static code analysis, and deployment.
  • Monitor system health, set up ing and observability (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), and proactively remediate reliability issues.
  • Drive automation for repetitive manual tasks to eliminate toil, including software builds, releases, rollbacks, and patch management.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to foster DevOps culture, accelerate feedback, and integrate reliability best practices into all phases of the SDLC.
  • Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and post-mortems, generating actionable improvements from real-world issues.
  • Secure cloud infrastructure, implement secrets management, review access controls, and integrate security into CI/CD processes.
  • Document all operational processes, architectures, and troubleshooting for ongoing team learning and onboarding.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant technical experience.
  • Substantial experience in Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps roles, especially implementing and maintaining CI/CD with GitHub Actions.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, Go), Linux administration, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
  • Strong grasp of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), networking, and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, communicate complex concepts clearly, and troubleshoot demanding issues under pressure.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
