About the job 

SAS is looking for a Product Release Manager to lead cross-divisional teams through the various phases of the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC).  The Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) is an iterative framework process that ensures we review, assess and plan before we build and commercialize new offerings.   We work with teams across the organization to ensure that SAS makes informed decisions about the product and that SAS is aligned in its efforts to implement the decisions that have been made. 

As a Product Release Manager, you will:  

  • Ensure that products come through the framework efficiently and effectively, resulting in successful releases.
  • Manage the completion of key deliverables such as Business Case, Financial Model, Legal Risk Review, Set Gate (Planning Complete), and the Go Gate (Release Readiness) 
  • Communicate and report on the status of products in systems of record to be consumed by key stakeholder.
  • Lead cross-divisional teams through a successful planning phase resulting in a completed Set Gate. 
  • Lead cross-divisional teams through a successful build and commercialize phase while managing changes and resolving risks resulting in a completed Go Gate. 
  • Be accountable for the successful navigation of the PDLC framework to get products to the market as planned.
  • Lead and support the Product Manager, R&D Project Manager, the Product Marketing Manager, and the delivery team for each product to optimize and accelerate the quality and time to move the approved Business Case to General Availability. 
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

Required qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in Product Management, Software Project Management or Product Release Management. 
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or related discipline. 
  • Proven ability to lead cross divisional projects or interdivisional complex projects.
  • Strong communication and meeting facilitation.
  • General understanding of software release management and deployment.
  • An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

  • Experience using Jira, ServiceNow, and confluence.

  • Experience creating and updating status reports.  

  • Experience defining and communicating product strategy.
