Job Description

QGC seeks a Community & Public Relations Manager to serve as the organization’s primary liaison between the company, local communities, public agencies, industry organizations, media outlets, and external stakeholders. This role is responsible for public affairs, community engagement, and reputation management initiatives that support the growth and operation of advanced infrastructure projects and will collaborate closely with QGC Sr Communication Strategist to develop and execute strategic communications.

The ideal candidate is a proactive relationship builder and skilled communicator, who will interact with community officials and residents to effectively position the company within the community. This position plays a critical role in strengthening stakeholder trust, supporting project development efforts, managing public perception, and advancing the company’s brand within the communities it serves.

Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Stakeholder Relations

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local government officials, economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, educational institutions, nonprofit partners, utilities, and community leaders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for community outreach efforts related to infrastructure development, expansion projects, and operational activities.
  • Coordinate public meetings, community forums, open houses, and stakeholder engagement events.
  • Monitor community sentiment and identify opportunities to strengthen public trust and support.
  • Partners with project teams to ensure community interests and concerns are appropriately communicated and addressed.
  • Represent the organization at civic, business, industry, and community events.

Public Affairs & Government Relations Support

  • Monitor legislation, regulatory developments, and public policy issues that may impact company operations or projects.
  • Assist leadership with stakeholder communication strategies related to permitting, zoning, development approvals, and community planning initiatives.
  • Support interactions with municipal agencies, economic development authorities, and other governmental entities.
  • Help coordinate public outreach efforts associated with major development initiatives.

Event Management & Community Investment

  • Lead planning and execution of ribbon cuttings, facility tours, groundbreaking ceremonies, community partnerships, and charitable initiatives.
  • Manage sponsorship opportunities, community investment programs, and philanthropic activities.
  • Measure and report on community engagement effectiveness and stakeholder impact.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships that align with company values and objectives.

Crisis Communications & Reputation Management

  • Support crisis communication planning and response efforts.
  • Coordinate communications during incidents, service interruptions, public concerns, or community issues.
  • Prepare leadership messaging and stakeholder communications during high-profile situations.
  • Monitor reputation risks and proactively recommend communication strategies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in public relations, community relations, corporate communications, public affairs or stakeholder engagement
  • Experience supporting infrastructure, technology, energy, utility, telecommunications, real estate development, construction, data center, or related industries.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • Experience working directly with executive leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and modern communication platforms.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting hyperscale data center, digital infrastructure, AI, energy, telecommunications, or mission-critical environments.
  • Experience in government relations, economic development, or public affairs.
  • Familiarity with permitting, land development, infrastructure planning, or utility-scale projects.
