What are Rehash jobs?

Rehash jobs typically refer to roles involved in reviewing, updating, or optimizing existing processes, data, or code within an organization. The term 'rehash' means to reuse or rework something, so these positions might focus on improving current systems, troubleshooting, or implementing incremental changes based on feedback. In tech and data contexts, rehashing can also relate to updating cryptographic hashes or refreshing stored information for better security or performance. The specific responsibilities can vary depending on the industry and company.

What is a Rehash job?

A Rehash job typically involves following up with previous customers or leads to re-engage them for potential sales or service opportunities. This role is common in industries like automotive sales, insurance, or home services, where past clients may need additional products or upgrades. Rehash professionals use phone calls, emails, or other communication methods to reconnect with customers, address concerns, and offer new deals. The goal is to maximize customer retention and increase sales by leveraging prior relationships.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Rehash specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Rehash specialist (typically in the mortgage or insurance industry), you need a strong understanding of sales processes, customer retention strategies, and industry regulations, often supported by relevant licensure or certification. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software, quoting tools, and industry-specific databases is crucial. Excellent communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills help build trust and address client concerns effectively. These abilities are vital for maximizing client retention, ensuring compliance, and driving business growth.

What are some typical challenges faced by professionals in a rehash role within sales or customer retention teams?

One common challenge in a rehash role is reconnecting with customers who have previously declined or canceled services, which requires strong communication and negotiation skills. Professionals must balance persistence with empathy, addressing concerns while maintaining a positive customer relationship. Additionally, staying updated on product knowledge and industry trends is essential to effectively overcome objections and offer tailored solutions. Collaboration with sales, marketing, and customer service teams is also key to ensuring a seamless customer experience and maximizing retention opportunities.

Job description

At Veridian Service Partners, we believe in putting people first-our team, our customers, and our communities. Backed by private equity and focused on growth through both organic expansion and acquisitions, we are building the most admired and profitable home services company in America's top 50 markets.
Veridian is more than just a name; it represents growth, integrity, and opportunity. We're expanding across the outdoor services space with a commitment to quality, professionalism, and a culture rooted in respect and teamwork. Join us as we continue to grow, innovate, and make a lasting impact-one backyard at a time.
Why work with us:
  • Competitive pay (based on experience)
  • On-the-job training
  • Company Expansion and growth opportunities
  • Team-oriented work environment
  • Consistent work year-round
  • Great benefits + PTO package

About the role:
The Rehash Manager builds and leads Veridian's rehash function from the ground up. Rehash is the disciplined re-engagement of previous leads and unsold opportunities - customers who took an appointment or estimate but did not move forward - to bring them back into the sales pipeline. This is a build-from-scratch role: you'll stand up the department's process, tools, scripts, and reporting, while personally doing the rehash work as we grow. You reengage customers by phone from our Dallas call center; when you set a rehash appointment, it is routed to a Field Sales Manager to run in the home. Over time, you'll build and lead a small team of rehash specialists.
What you'll do:
Build-Out Responsibilities (Standing Up the Department)
  • Design the rehash program from nothing: define which leads qualify for rehash, the re-engagement cadence (call/text/email timing), and the criteria for a quality rehash appointment.
  • Build the scripts, objection-handling, and talk tracks for re-engaging previously unsold customers.
  • Establish the process for pulling and prioritizing rehash lists from our CRM (i360), and the hand-off workflow that routes set appointments to Field Sales Managers.
  • Create the department's KPIs, reporting, and dashboards (contact rate, set rate, sat rate, close rate, revenue from rehash).
  • Document the playbook and SOPs so the function is repeatable and can be trained to future hires.
  • Partner with the Call Center Director, Field Sales leadership, and Marketing on lead flow, hand-offs, and pipeline alignment.

Rehash Responsibilities (Doing the Work)
  • Personally re-engage previously unsold customers by phone, working dormant and aged leads back into active opportunities.
  • Set qualified rehash appointments and route them cleanly to the appropriate Field Sales Manager.
  • Follow up persistently and professionally across multiple touchpoints to maximize contact and set rates.
  • Maintain accurate, real-time records of every contact, disposition, and appointment in the CRM.
  • Hit individual rehash targets (contacts, sets, and revenue) while the department is being built.

Leadership Responsibilities (As the Department Grows)
  • Recruit, train, and coach a team of rehash specialists as volume justifies expansion.
  • Set team targets, run performance reviews, and build a culture of accountability and quality.
  • Continuously refine the rehash playbook based on what's converting.

What we are looking for:
Must-haves:
  • Proven inside sales / phone sales success, ideally in home services or another DTC, appointment-based model.
  • Operationally sound - able to build process, structure, and reporting from scratch, not just execute someone else's system.
  • A strong closer on the phone who can personally do the rehash while building the department.
  • Comfort with CRM tools and pulling/prioritizing lead data (i360 experience a plus).
  • Self-starter who thrives with ambiguity and a blank page.

Nice-to-haves:
  • Prior experience building or running a rehash, retention, or reactivation function.
  • Experience coaching or leading a small phone-based sales team.
  • Familiarity with high-ticket, in-home sales cycles.
