Job description

Summary: Join a compassionate healthcare team as an Access Representative III, where you will gather detailed demographic, financial, and clinical information to ensure accurate and complete patient admissions and registrations. This role requires warmth, responsiveness, and professionalism when interacting with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Enter patient demographics accurately into the system to obtain correct medical record and account numbers.
  • Communicate collection policies and collect outstanding balances, deposits, and point-of-service payments.
  • Verify insurance benefits and secure prior authorizations as needed.
  • Ensure Medicare patient diagnoses comply with guidelines and obtain Advance Beneficiary Notices when necessary.
  • Obtain physician orders to support services rendered and order ancillary tests within the order entry system.
  • Assist insurance companies, physician offices, and other departments with patient information.
  • Coordinate patient placement through bed control functions efficiently and with patient focus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Preferably 1-2 years of insurance or clerical experience in a hospital or medical office setting.
Skills and Requirements:
  • Knowledge of insurance processes and payment collections preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows.
  • Strong typing and data entry skills to meet productivity standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Customer service skills adaptable to diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
