The Registration Coordinator is responsible for registration of patients, verification of insurance benefits, pre certifications and verification of demographic information.
Responsibilities
The Registration Coordinator is responsible for registration of patients, verification of insurance benefits, pre certifications and verification of demographic information. Responsibilities will also include payment collection and posting, and financial assistance applications as needed.
This position is deemed *essential *. Essential staff are expected to report to work during inclement weather.
Qualifications
Bilingual skills preferred. High School diploma or GED required. Able to work weekends, holidays and shift rotations as needed.
The following, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this position:
Education/formal training/licenser/certification/experience:
High school graduate (or equivalent). Understanding of medical terminology. Two years' experience in a medical related field preferred.
Additional Skills:
Strong verbal communication skills. Effectively able to manage multiple tasks in an organized manner. Must be able to type 35 wpm and be computer literate. The candidate/employee must be committed to excellent customer service when dealing with all types of patients, internal and external.
Working Conditions/Physical Demand
Primary office environment/workstation. Potential exposure to communicable disease.
  • Stooping: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the legs and the spine
  • Standing, walking and sitting for extended periods of time
  • Medium physical effort is required in lifting up to 40 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Essential Sensory Requirements:
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; able to read, write, speak and comprehend the English Language.
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sound by ear.
  • Acuity, Far: Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Acuity, Near: Clarity of 20 inches or less

Essential Mental Requirements:
  • Able to perform in frequent stressful situations

Exposure to Hazards:
  • Constant exposure to chemicals, infectious, electrical and fire hazards. Exposure to blood and body fluids requiring Biohazard protection.
