Florida Registered Interns (Mental Health, Marriage amp; Family or Social Work) ready to join

a team of counselors working in Florida schools are invited to apply! Our school

counseling program has continued to grow since its inception in 2013 - serving both

parochial and secular private schools through individual and group counseling, with

children from preschool through 12th grade. The program is operated through Lutheran

Counseling Services (LCS), a staple of mental health in Central Florida for over 30 years.

Self-starters, relationship oriented and creative counselors will love this position to supportchildren, their parents and staff in the schools we serve in. Previous school-based

experience is highly desirable. Opportunities for the qualified registered intern that fits

We are specifically looking for a Registered Intern in any of the three disciplines (Mental Health, Marriage and Family, Social Work) that will serve a school in Ocala, FL that we have had a contract with for the past three years.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Desire and ability to work with children in a school setting

• Have reliable transportation

• Masters Degree from an accredited college/university

• Registered Intern with the Florida Department of Health in Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling and/or Clinical Social Work

• Professional liability insurance with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per incident/$3,000,000 aggregate

• Available August 2026 - May 2027 (for a 10-month contract)

• Familiarity with Zoom, Google Drive amp; Apple products is helpful

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide individual and group counseling to students

• Lead classroom psycho-educational based presentations

• Assist with school and personal crises on campus

• Understand and support the mission of LCS

• Learn and use TherapyNotes for all documentation: including Intakes, Treatment Plans and Progress Notes

• Regularly meet with an LCS Clinical Supervisor, Program Supervisor and other LCS staff members, as needed

• Attend LCS staff amp; professional development meetings

JOB BENEFITS

• Compensation is $26/hour

• Clinical supervision for program hours is provided by a LCS/Florida qualified supervisor (provided free of charge to registered intern)

• Opportunity to build a caseload of clients (children, adults, couples, families) at LCS satellite locations or via telehealth/virtual appointments - with billing and scheduling provided through LCS staff

• Contract potentially renewable each school year

• Clinical and professional development opportunities (i.e. continuing education) will allow you to network with other mental health providers
