Regional Operations Manager

About the Role

Packaging Exchange is a national packaging and distribution company operating 25 locations across North America with a team of 400+. The Regional Operations Manager owns operating performance across every branch in an assigned region, leading the branch Operations Managers and General Managers who run each site day to day. This role drives consistency, safety, and results across the region and reports to the Director of Operations for the territory.

We are looking for a hands-on multi-site leader who can hold branches to a common standard, coach the managers who run them, and balance service, cost, and safety across diverse operations. This role offers real room for growth in a family-oriented, fast-paced organization.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

•    Oversee multiple branch Operations Managers and General Managers within a defined geographic region to ensure operational excellence across all facilities.

•    Drive consistent implementation of company-wide policies, safety programs, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

•    Regularly review and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for each branch, identifying trends, challenges, and improvement opportunities.

•    Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for branch Operations Managers and General Managers, building strong leadership pipelines.

•    Serve as the primary liaison between branch operations and the Director of Operations, ensuring strategic alignment and effective communication.

•    Partner with branch managers to optimize staffing, operational workflows, and cost control while maintaining high levels of customer service.

•    Conduct routine site visits to assess performance, safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

•    Support new branch launches, expansions, and process rollouts within the region.

•    Assist in managing budgets, forecasting, and reporting for regional financial performance.

•    Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement across the region.


Requirements & Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or equivalent experience.

•    Minimum 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in warehouse distribution, logistics, or a related field.

•    Proven ability to manage multiple operations teams across different locations.

•    Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.

•    Financial acumen, including budget creation and expense control.

•    Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills.

•    Ability to analyze and resolve complex operational challenges across diverse environments.

•    Moderate travel required for site visits and regional meetings, up to 50%.

•    Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word, and with a warehouse management system (WMS) or ERP.


Preferred Qualifications

•    Experience managing multi-site operations across multiple states or territories.

•    Experience launching, expanding, or integrating new facilities.

•    Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA requirements at sites with driver teams.


Physical Requirements

•    Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned region, including driving and occasional overnight stays.

•    Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.

•    Ability to regularly lift, push, pull, move, and carry up to 50 pounds

•    Ability to perform warehouse duties involving standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, squatting, climbing, and repetitive motions throughout the workday.

•    Vision Requirements:

Ability to safely perform the visual demands of the position, including reading labels, inventory records, and computer screens; identifying hazards; operating equipment safely; and maintaining awareness of the surrounding work environment. Specific vision abilities may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without reasonable accommodation.
