Job description

Description:

Position Summary

The Head of Regional Operations provides operational leadership across Weber's multi-site distribution network within an assigned region, partnering with the Chief Operating Officer and cross-functional stakeholders to drive operational performance, continuous improvement, and organizational effectiveness. This role owns the operating cadence for the region — setting standards, coaching site leadership, and ensuring performance, safety, and profitability targets are met.

The Head of Regional Operations also plays a lead role in bringing newly onboarded operating companies up to Weber's operating standards — assessing operational readiness, aligning processes and systems, and supporting a smooth transition into the network. This leader delivers objective recommendations, implements best practices, and ensures alignment between business strategy and day-to-day execution.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership & Strategic Direction

  • Provide operational leadership across multi-site distribution operations within the assigned region, setting direction on operational performance, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with executive stakeholders to develop and execute strategies that improve operational performance, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Lead strategic planning and translate corporate objectives into executable operational plans across the region.
  • Provide leadership with recommendations supported by operational analytics, financial performance, and industry best practices.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Assess existing operating models and lead initiatives that improve efficiency, scalability, and service delivery.
  • Lead region-wide continuous improvement efforts through process optimization, automation, technology adoption, and standardization.
  • Develop operating frameworks, governance structures, and performance metrics that drive accountability and measurable outcomes.
  • Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies that support long-term network performance.

People Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Provide oversight and coaching to Warehouse Senior Directors, Distribution Center leadership, and operational management teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Evaluate site and network performance through KPIs, dashboards, and financial metrics to ensure achievement of service, productivity, and profitability targets.
  • Support organizational development through leadership coaching, succession planning, and operational capability building.

Financial & Business Performance

  • Own operating budgets, forecasting, profitability, and cost optimization for the network, in partnership with the finance organization.
  • Analyze operational and financial performance to identify opportunities for revenue growth, margin improvement, and resource optimization.
  • Support executive decision-making through financial analysis, business case development, and operational modeling.

Customer & Business Development

  • Support business development activities by evaluating operational feasibility, designing scalable solutions, and contributing to client proposals.
  • Serve as an operational point of contact during strategic customer engagements and business reviews.

Network Growth & Site Integration

  • Lead operational readiness assessments for new operating companies joining Weber's network, evaluating organizational capabilities, systems, and process alignment.
  • Develop and support integration roadmaps that bring new sites onto Weber's operating standards while minimizing disruption to service.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to sequence early-stage and full-integration milestones for newly onboarded operating companies.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience in multi-site distribution, warehousing, or 3PL environments, including oversight of senior site leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational change, large-scale transformation initiatives, and cross-functional executive projects.
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional communication, relationship management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Track record of managing operational and financial performance through KPIs, dashboards, and budget ownership.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, operational reporting tools, ERP/WMS platforms, and business analytics.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across the assigned region, including occasional multi-day trips.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in business, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Experience integrating new sites, operating companies, or business units into an existing operational framework.
  • Experience in a private-equity-backed or acquisitive organization.
  • Lean Six Sigma or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
  • Experience in cold-chain, food & beverage, or temperature-controlled distribution.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This role is based primarily in a standard office environment at the assigned regional hub, with regular travel to warehouse and distribution facilities across the region. Site visits require adherence to facility safety protocols and appropriate PPE. The role requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, use standard office and presentation equipment, and travel by air or car as business needs require.
