Job description

Position Summary
MAG Aerospace is seeking to identify a Senior Network Engineer to support operations based out of Webster Outlying Field (WOLF), MD.
This position will manage and support a high level NAWCAD program while designing local, regional, network systems and subsystems supporting voice, video, data, and imagery information. Additionally, lead teams to address complex projects.
*This position is contingent upon receipt of government funding and hiring authorization.
At this time, a start date has not been determined.
We are seeking to identify and engage highly qualified professionals for a talent pipeline. Applicants may be contacted as program funding and hiring approvals are finalized.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Analyzes users' needs and makes recommendations on appropriate network configurations to meet users' needs and departmental standards
  • Designs, configures, monitors, and optimizes local and wide area networks and printers for optimal performance, maximum availability, minimal maintenance, and reasonable costs
  • Designs, configures, maintains, and manages network security features for local and wide area networks
  • Adds and deletes users as required on network servers and applications
  • Troubleshoots network issues • Installs and upgrades network equipment and software
  • Analyzes, recommends, and evaluates new hardware, software, and communications products for network compatibility and applicability
  • Establishes, documents, and maintains network technical support processes and procedures
  • Provides network asset management including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications
  • Establishes phone (voice) and network standards regarding new technologies and applications
  • Monitors and tests network performance and provides network performance statistics and reports
  • Works with cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of information technology
  • Assist in the training of other information systems personnel to improve their technical skills
  • Assist departmental management with development of systems standards, short- and long-term goals, project management, and strategic directions
  • Keeps current on new developments and techniques in information technology
  • Acts as technical liaison between company, customers, and vendors
  • As required provides technical support for bids and proposals

Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Experience:
  • Of the minimum ten (10) years of required experience, ten (10) years of the experience must be in designing local, regional, network systems and subsystems supporting voice, video, data, and imagery information.
  • Additionally, must have at least five (5) years of experience with leading teams to address complex projects
  • Experience in deploying wireless networks in industry or government environments
  • Experience deploying encode and ended
  • Experience working knowledge of CDMA, GSM, and LTE - Prefer working knowledge of commercial solutions for classified and NSA capability packages
  • Proven knowledge of network infrastructure and network hardware
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to explain technical issues to all levels
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
  • Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices
  • Ability to create network maps
  • Keeps abreast of technology trends

Education and Certifications:
  • MUST HAVE an Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CNNP) Certification.
  • Master's Degree in an Engineering or Computer Science Discipline.

Clearance:
  • Must currently have a Top Secret Security Clearance
  • US Citizenship required

The projected compensation range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAG's total compensation package for employees.
