Job description

The Field Service Expansion Manager will play a key role in Group CBSโ€™s Greenfield growth strategy by leading and developing new regional field service operations in markets where Group CBS currently does not have a footprint. This role combines technical leadership with business development responsibilities.

The successful candidate will leverage existing customer relationships and a personal book of business to establish and expand operations. They will be responsible for generating sales, executing projects from cradle to grave, and building a sustainable customer base. Acting as both technical lead and business developer, the Expansion Manager will ensure profitable growth, operational excellence, and high levels of customer satisfaction.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Greenfield Development
    • Establish and grow new service territories where Group CBS does not have a current presence.
    • Leverage existing customer relationships and personal book of business to seed and expand operations.
  • Sales & Business Development
    • Identify, develop, and close sales opportunities with both existing and new customers.
    • Develop and implement regional sales strategies that align with company goals.
    • Build strong, long-term relationships with key accounts by understanding their needs, strategies, and decision-making processes.
    • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to expand market presence.
  • Project & Service Execution
    • Oversee execution of projects from quotation through completion, including scope development, scheduling, resource allocation, and customer communication.
    • Serve as technical lead for field service projects, providing expertise and guidance to technicians.
    • Ensure timely delivery, quality workmanship, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.
  • Leadership & Team Building
    • Recruit, train, and lead local field service teams as regional operations grow.
    • Mentor and coach technicians to deliver exceptional customer service and technical performance.
    • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Financial & Operational Oversight
    • Work with supervisor development of budgets, forecasts, and performance targets for the region.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including but not limited to sales growth, project profitability, and customer satisfaction.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven track record of successfully establishing or expanding regional service operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring an existing book of business and grow new customer relationships.
  • Strong technical knowledge of power systems, electrical testing, or related services.
  • Sales and business development skills with ability to identify and close opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage projects from cradle to grave.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Salesforce and Oracle Netsuite experience preferred.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of combined experience in field service management, business development, or technical sales.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
