Job description

Position Description: Who We SeekHispanic Federation seeks a Compliance Manager to work with the Director for Compliance in ensuring the organizational compliance. The manager will support charitable and office registrations of the headquarters and state and regional offices; research and implement nonprofit requirements; and assist with maintenance and expansion of Hispanic Federation’s compliance library. As needed, the manager will assist in supporting public sector awards throughout their life cycles, from submission of application through close-out – working closely with the Director for Compliance.The successful candidate will understand the importance of compliance and possess strong research and writing skills. As the organization has operations in Puerto Rico, a strong command of oral and written Spanish is essential to success as communications may happen in Spanish. In addition, the manager will have experience working with staff from a diversity of backgrounds and experiences and have the ability to communicate effectively across departments and programmatic focus. This full-time position is hybrid and requires onsite presence in the New York City Office or Washington DC Office for a minimum of 10 days a month. Travel to regional offices and other locations in the United States and territories may be required as needed. Position Location: New York City or Washington, DC, preferred; will also consider another location where HF has offices and multiple staff.
Reports to: Associate Vice President for Compliance
Job Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate HF’s state and local registrations in locations where HF has offices and charitable reporting requirements in all states, including annual filings and renewals, obtaining required reports and data from HF internal departments as needed
Monitor jurisdictional regulatory requirements and ensure timely submissions to maintain organizational good standing in all applicable states and localitiesMaintain up-to-date information about all current public-sector grants Help maintain and increase the team’s knowledge of all existing and changing nonprofit compliance requirements Assist with maintenance and expansion of HF’s Compliance library Maintain and organize compliance-related files and shared drives As needed, work closely with the Director for Compliance to support public-sector grants compliance activities Carry out related tasks as assigned Skills and QualificationsRequired: Bachelor's degree in legal studies, social sciences, business administration, human resources, or related field or equivalent experienceAt least two years of work experience related to organizational administration, office management, regulatory requirements, and/or compliance.Familiarity with the use of administrative manuals and policies and proceduresAbility to write clearly and concisely Oral and written proficiency in both English and Spanish, including the ability to prepare materials in both languages Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to work individually or in teams Strong attention to detail Excellent research and analytical skills The ability to complete multiple tasks with demanding deadlines Interest in furthering knowledge and skills Commitment to Hispanic Federation's mission and core values Proficiency in use of PC computers and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) Preferred:Experience with some aspect of nonprofit administration and managementNonprofit experience, paid or volunteerFamiliarity with Latino and social justice issuesBenefits and SalaryThe salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 commensurate with experience. Compensation comes with a robust benefits package including fully paid medical, dental and vision insurance available upon hire, 403(b) retirement plans with a company match after 6 months, and access to flexible spending and pre-tax commuter benefits.
