Job description

Seeking a wine industry sales professional, looking to put their experience to work with a fast paced and growing organization. M.A. Silva is looking for a Business Development Manager capable of creating lasting business partnerships with new and existing customers. This is a key role that requires a self-starter who will proactively target prospects, generate and follow up with leads while working with the sales team to develop new business within existing accounts.

This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to apply their industry experience and share in the growth of a fun and energetic company. The ideal candidate will have experience working with winemakers, buyers and key decision makers within the wine and beverage industry. Must be able to leverage these relationships to identify new opportunities with prospects and maximize potential with current M.A. Silva customers. This position reports to the National Sales Manager.

M. A. Silva a family-owned established cork, glass and packaging supplier to the beverage alcohol industry. We are an energetic and progressive team with a passion for quality, a commitment to customer service, and a high level of professionalism and integrity. We have aggressive growth goals that will elevate M.A. Silva to be the premier packaging supplier to the beverage industry. As a key member of the team, this position would preferably be based in Sonoma or Napa County with frequent travel to other major wine areas around the country.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Identifies and generates new business

•Developing new and existing customer relationships

•Develops and implements a sales plan in conjunction with the National Sales Manager with objectives and strategies to increase revenue and aggressively acquire new accounts.

•Seeks/creates opportunities to expand business with current clients; identifies further business needs and develops and presents solutions.

•Assist sales team members to grow existing accounts to full potential and maximize individual account revenue and profit potential

•Accurately reporting all market activity back to M.A. Silva Management in a timely manner


QUALIFICATIONS:

•Must have a “HUNTER” mentality to generate new business and leads.

•Comfortable with cold calls and prospecting

•Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent industry experience
