You'll join a mission-driven team and agency dedicated to supporting our clients. Core Responsibilities

  • Help with Classroom Management & Activities
  • Help with Lesson Preparation
  • Assist in Parent Orientation Workshops
  • Assist with Administrative Tasks

What will you be doing in your role?

  • Assist instructors in teaching English language and literacy skills to refugee students in summer camps.
  • Help with classroom management and other activities, such as crafts and snacks.
  • Conduct classes in a fun, positive, welcoming, and culturally sensitive learning manner.
  • Help instructors with lesson preparation.
  • Assist in parent orientation workshops.
  • Assist with school reenrollment events.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry.
  • Be flexible with your tasks and time to help the team as needed.
  • Travel to and from class sites and the office.
  • Work collaboratively with other Refugee School Impact team members to support the overall goals of the team.
  • You meet your commitments and effectively manage your administrative duties.

Are you the next Refugee School Impact Intern?

  • Enrolled in a Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s level program.
  • Experience with children.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Transportation to and from off-site locations; valid driverโ€™s license and insurance.
  • Bilingual in current refugee language, preferred (Dari, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, etc.)
  • Commit to 15 to 20 hours per week during the summer.
