Refractory Sales/Technical

Direct Supervisor: VP Business Development

Location: Traveling position- Home office

Summary

The focus on this position is sales growth in the Midwest, particularly MI, WI and IL to increase refractory sales in the foundry market. This will be done through increasing share at existing accounts, developing new accounts, and working with contractors/installers to grow product applications. Candidate will build on existing relationships to continue to strive to be a knowledge course for existing customers and develop relationships with new potential customers through outstanding customer service.

Critical Skills

Proficient at learning and following the company sales system to ensure success. Candidate must build relationships with customers that enable the individual to experience necessary sales growth and territory development

Qualifications
  1. Degree in Business, Metallurgy, Ceramic Engineering or Material Science or equivalent industrial experience. Sales experience helpful but not necessary. Will train appropriate candidate.
  2. Proven success in career.
  3. Results oriented with strong initiative.
  4. Ability to communicate with all co-workers, internal departments, and external customers / suppliers in a professional manner.
  5. Willingness to travel within the territory to appropriately cover the customers.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office software, email communications and overall ability to properly communicate / follow up with customers.
Duties
  1. Follow the designed sales process.Establish, grow and continue customer relationships in the territory.
    1. Develop strategic people skills.
    2. Create a sales plan by customer including goals, $ estimates, $ opportunities and tactics to succeed.
    3. Follow the sales call process.
    4. Participate in continuous performance management process.
  2. Carry out necessary follow-up to maximize relationships, i.e., emails detailing call content and action items.
  3. Communicate properly and effectively with company staff, including Customer Service, Production, R&D, Credit, Financial and Executive members.
  4. Follow the overall strategic plan regarding target accounts, products, price and areas of emphasis.
  5. Depending on specific needs, utilize resources to carry out projects identified by the Foundry Market Development team and/or the strategic plan. Examples include joint calls and/or presentations at foundries outside your territory.
  6. Attend annual sales and planning meetings and participate as required.
Work Environment

Home office- making frequent customer visits. Will be supported by R&D, Sales Staff, Installation Team.
