Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer | Ogden, UT


Nexeo HR is actively hiring a Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer to support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of a large‑scale technical program based in Ogden, Utah.

This role supports large-scale, mission‑critical infrastructure projects, including the design, construction, and integration of HVAC and ventilation systems for highly specialized facilities. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex, nationally significant programs requiring advanced technical expertise. Responsibilities

• Design and engineer HVAC and ventilation systems for industrial and secure facilities

• Collect HVAC, safety, and system design requirements

• Perform HVAC airflow calculations and system sizing

• Select HVAC equipment and develop technical specifications

• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, studies, and datasheets

• Develop and revise ventilation and instrumentation diagrams

• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering teams

• Support safety analyses, hazard evaluations, and compliance documentation

• Assist with procurement activities and vendor coordination following QA requirements


Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance

• Valid Real ID–compliant driver’s license or state-issued ID

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Chemical Engineering

• 6+ years of experience designing and constructing HVAC systems

• Experience performing airflow calculations for:

– Power plants

– Refineries

– Chemical or industrial process facilities

• Strong knowledge of HVAC design codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements

• Proven experience with HVAC equipment selection

• Ability to pass background check and drug screening


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting DOE or DOD projects

• Experience working with vendors and equipment procurement

• Familiarity with CGD and/or Environmental Equipment Qualification

• Passed FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam

• Experience using:

– Trane TRACE™ 700

– VariTrane™ Duct Designer

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


Pay

$100,000 – $185,000 per year (based on experience)


Schedule

Full Time | 9×80 Work Schedule (Every Other Friday Off)
