About the Position: This position is located at Bassett Army Community Hospital, Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
Federal employees in Alaska are currently entitled to receive a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change.

Duties
Help
  • Maintain suspense database for contacting civilian healthcare professionals.
  • Oversee consult tracking for all insurance beneficiaries through the entire cycle.
  • Develop an electronic directory of healthcare resources for all beneficiaries programs.
  • Educate staff, healthcare professionals and beneficiaries on the consult tracking procedures.
  • Resolve enrollment issues with appropriate personnel.
  • Notify staff of items requiring urgent attention for best healthcare outcomes.
  • Perform investigations to resolve issues for authorization.
  • Gather information to coordinate care using automated systems such as Genesis.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting patients with basic inquiries; utilize an automated software system in healthcare databases to input or retrieve data; and maintaining files and/or folders. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
