The business unit performs design, analysis, testing, and fabrication of advanced technologies through the complete concept-to-flight development cycle.
Summary
Redwire Space Missions has a current opportunity for a Contractor, Electrical Test Engineer (willing to consider all levels) for up to 6 months located at our facility in Littleton, CO. You will design the test plans, hardware and scripts required to validate deliverable space-grade hardware. Ensuring mission success by validating our hardware will work as intended in the extreme environmental conditions of outer space after a turbulent launch assent. You will have the opportunity to work on projects of all sizes including such high-profile programs as the human-rated Orion program.
Responsibilities
  • Test procedure development for component and/or spacecraft I amp;T (Electrical Checkouts, RF Comm, Prop, GN amp;C, Thermal, etc.)
  • Executes test procedures, to include safe to mate, power on and functional testing
  • Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics
  • Preform trouble shooting of anomalies and failures and resolve through root cause corrective action
  • Reviewing electrical schematics, wiring interconnect diagrams, electrical component spec sheets
  • Operation of component/spacecraft EGSE: power supplies, electronic loads, DMM, O-Scopes, RF Test Equipment (VNA, Spec-A, Telem receiver, modems)
  • Some travel may be required (ABQ, LAX)
Ideal Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 or more years of experience. Willing to accept experience in lieu of degree
  • Professional experience in aerospace test engineering or related field
  • Electrical/Electronics testing experience at unit and/or subsystem level. Troubleshooting as needed
  • Ability to support testing outside of business hours including overnight and weekends on occasion
Desired Skills
  • Experience using Epsilon 3 for test procedure, development and execution
  • Experience with environmental testing, such as bench supplies and scopes with no support from more senior techs
  • Experience and understanding of AS9100 industry standard practices
  • Electronic testing at spacecraft level
  • FlatSat, hardware in the Loop (testbed) design and operations
  • Failure analysis experience such as Ishikawa (fishbone), “5-Why”, etc.
  • Experienced with frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, and theories
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Possess strong leadership skills and a resiliently positive attitude
  • Basic MS Word amp; MS Excel competency (advanced MS Office amp; Office 365 skills a plus)
  • Previous experience with Spacecraft level test development and hands on testing.
  • Spacecraft Ground Systems (COSMOS/OpenC3, InControl, etc.)
  • Linux, scripting (Python, etc.)
  • Familiar with cleanroom operations for Spacecraft I amp;T
  • Requirements analysis and test methods
