Job description

Why This Role

Due to rapid growth, Redpoint Claims is expanding our Olympia‑based team and hiring two experienced WA L&I Claims Managers. This is a claim‑owner role, not a people‑management position. You will manage a portfolio of Washington L&I workers’ compensation claims end‑to‑end on behalf of employer clients.

This role is ideal for an experienced WA L&I professional who values autonomy, quality work, and a professional, respectful environment.

What You’ll Get

  • Profit share option
  • 100% employer‑paid Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance (including Long‑Term Care)
  • 401(k) with 2% employer match
  • Generous, flexible PTO and paid holidays
  • Flexible scheduling within an in‑office role
  • High autonomy and ownership of your desk
  • Relaxed, professional, relationship‑oriented environment

About Redpoint Claims

At Redpoint Claims, we are relationship‑oriented, professional, and results‑driven. We hire strong performers, treat people with respect, and support each other. You’ll have the tools, structure, and trust needed to deliver high‑quality work and meaningful results for employer clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review WA L&I claims to ensure medical treatment, time loss compensation, vocational services, and PPD awards are appropriate and comply with Washington industrial insurance law
  • Coordinate with attending physicians, consulting doctors, employers, injured workers, vocational counselors, WA L&I claims managers, and other stakeholders to resolve claim issues
  • Submit timely, well‑supported written protests and/or appeals when L&I decisions or benefits do not align with the law or facts of the claim
  • Track deadlines and maintain accurate, well‑organized claim documentation
  • Assist employers with return‑to‑work and light‑duty programs, including job analyses and job offers
  • Clearly explain Washington industrial insurance law and WA L&I requirements to employer clients
  • Prepare for and represent employer interests in appeals, including BIIA‑related matters, consistent with applicable rules and internal protocols
  • Proactively manage your claim portfolio with planning, follow‑up, and clear client communication

Portfolio Expectations

Work may include a mix of:

  • Protests and appeals (issue spotting, drafting, deadline tracking, evidence organization)
  • Active claim management and coordination (medical, time loss, vocational services, PPD)
  • Return‑to‑work and light‑duty support (job analyses, offers, documentation)
  • Communication with providers, employers, WA L&I staff, and workers
  • Strategy, documentation, summaries, and employer recommendations

Tools and Workflow Support

  • Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Direct access to WA L&I claims and employer accounts
  • Gardiant Case Management System
  • Standard templates, letter library, internal protocols, and administrative/process support
  • Clear expectations, regular check‑ins, and leadership support without micromanagement

Required Experience and Skills

This role requires prior WA L&I claims experience.

  • Completion of the WA L&I Claim Manager Apprenticeship OR Self‑Insurance Administrator’s Certification
  • Strong working knowledge of Washington industrial insurance law and WA L&I policies
  • Ability to apply legal and policy knowledge efficiently to claim management decisions
  • Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong written communication skills (professional letters, grammar, formatting)
  • Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent organization, follow‑through, and deadline management
  • Ability to manage a high‑volume desk independently

Why You’ll Like It Here

  • High autonomy and trust
  • Experienced, respectful team
  • Strong benefits with employer‑paid healthcare
  • Engaging work where every claim is different
  • A role where your expertise and decisions make a measurable difference

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • 401(k)
  • 401(k) matching
  • Dental insurance
  • Flexible schedule
  • Health insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Parental leave
