Salary Range:             $50,000 - $60,000

Job Summary
 
The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day human resources functions for the thrift store operation, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, benefits administration, volunteer coordination support, and workforce development partnerships.  
 
Primary Responsibilities 
 
Recruitment & Staffing

  • Develop and implement recruiting strategies for retail, warehouse, donation processing, and management positions.
  • Coordinate job postings, applicant screening, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Maintain relationships with workforce development organizations, colleges, and community partners.
  • Coordinate internship and volunteer recruitment programs.
  • Manage employee onboarding and orientation processes.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding workplace policies and procedures.
  • In partnership with the VP of People and Culture, and the Foundation leadership, employee retention and turnover trends will be monitored and strategies will be recommended to improve employee satisfaction and productivity.

Training & Development

  • Coordinate new hire training programs.
  • Engage Workforce Development participants in customer service, retail operations, and inventory and logistics training programs.
  • Coordinate professional development opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of workplace safety throughout the organization.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Assist with payroll coordination and timekeeping accuracy.

Workforce Development Programs

  • Coordinate workforce recruitment partnerships.
  • Track participant hours and program outcomes.

Volunteer & Intern Support

  • Assist in managing volunteer onboarding and orientation.
  • Maintain volunteer records and background checks as required.
  • Coordinate intern placements from educational institutions.
  • Track volunteer service hours and recognition programs.  

Skills and Qualifications
 
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience

  • 2-4 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Retail, nonprofit, thrift store, warehouse, or multi-site experience preferred.
  • Experience working with volunteers and workforce development programs preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution and communication skills.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems, preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
