Job description

A rapidly growing company in the aerospace and space technology industry is seeking an experienced Contract Technical Recruiter to support aggressive hiring initiatives across its engineering organization. This role is ideal for a recruiter who has experience recruiting within aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or other highly technical environments and thrives in a fast-paced, startup setting. The primary focus will be recruiting Mechanical Engineers and other specialized engineering talent supporting cutting-edge technology programs.
  • Location: Rockville, MD (Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week)
  • Job Type: Contract
  • Hourly Pay 55 to 60

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from intake meeting through offer acceptance
  • Recruit for Mechanical Engineering and other technical positions, including Systems, Electrical, Manufacturing, Test, and Aerospace Engineering roles
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand business needs and develop recruiting strategies
  • Source and engage passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, networking, referrals, and other sourcing channels
  • Conduct candidate screening and interview preparation
  • Coordinate interviews and manage the offer process
  • Maintain recruiting activity and candidate records within Greenhouse ATS
  • Provide a consultative approach to hiring managers on market trends, talent availability, and recruiting best practices
  • Help build scalable recruiting processes within a growing organization

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience
  • Experience recruiting within Aerospace, Defense, Manufacturing, Engineering, Space Technology, or other highly technical industries
  • Proven success recruiting Mechanical Engineers and other hard-to-find technical talent
  • Strong sourcing and talent-mapping capabilities
  • Experience managing multiple requisitions in a fast-paced environment
  • Greenhouse ATS experience strongly preferred
  • Startup or high-growth company recruiting experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with hiring managers

Work Arrangement:
