Job Title: Bus Monitor
Salary Schedule: Classified; CHCCS Salary Page
Reports To: Director of Transportation
Salary Grade: 101
Work Location: Lincoln Center
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Work Schedule: 10 Month
Position Summary
To assist in providing safe transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program
Essential Duties
  • Assists the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus.
  • Inspects transportation passes to prevent unauthorized travel.
  • Assists young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus.
  • Assures that students get on and off the bus in an orderly fashion.
  • Provides written records of violations of the student code to the Transportation Supervisor.
  • Collects and turns over to the school secretary those personal items left on the bus by students.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Education/Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

  • Position includes lifting, holding children
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
