Job description

Rate $21.00/hr or $23.00/hr with the selection of enhanced pay.

Position Summary

This is professional work teaching recreational activities to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The Recreation Instructor plays a key role in supporting individuals' physical, social, and emotional development through structured recreational programming and leisure activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain individuals' gross motor, fine motor, and perceptual motor skills through structured classes and leisure activities
  • Conduct assessments to support individualized recreational and therapeutic goals
  • Plan, organize, and supervise therapeutic recreational programs
  • Use recreation as a tool to teach cooperation, sportsmanship, and fair play
  • Provide safe, engaging, and healthful recreational outlets for residents
  • Support overall quality of life and well-being through meaningful activity participation
