Guest Services Workers - Recreation Center

The Recreation Center Operations & Membership Division is looking for high-performing individuals to fill the positions of Guest Services Worker at the Provo City Recreation Center. Come join a high-energy team and learn new skills. These are staff positions needed on a part-time basis.

Job Details

What is the compensation?

  • Starting at $11.00 per hour.

  • Successfully performing employees are eligible for a $0.50 per hour pay increase every six months up to $14.00 per hour.

Part-time Provo City employees are eligible for the following great benefits: a) free admission to the Provo Recreation Center, Peaks Ice Arena Public Skating, and Provo Shooting Sports Park; b) a free Provo City Library Card; c) a 25% discount on Provo Recreation Center memberships (direct family only); and d) discounts from various local and national vendors.

What will I do?

  • Staff front counter, concessions, special events, fitness area, and child watch.

  • Perform cashiering, food service, childcare, and related duties.

  • Participate in crowd control.

  • Assist office staff as needed and perform other duties as required.


What qualifications do I need?

  • Sufficient experience and/or training which would demonstrate an ability to successfully perform the duties of the job.

  • Ability to remain courteous in adverse interpersonal or emotional situations.

  • Ability to perform duties in a manner that demonstrates integrity, respect, and kindness towards fellow workers, customers, and the general public.


What are the hours?

Schedule is based on department need and varies between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., Monday - Saturday, with a maximum of 25 hours worked per week.Employee will be expected to fill in as needed.
What are the physical and environmental factors?

This work requires walking, bending, reaching, lifting up to 30 pounds, and sitting for extended periods of time at a computer terminal. Applicant must have physical strength and agility enough to perform the work.

What is the selection process?

This is an open file posting. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted for any positions available at that time. They will remain on file for a minimum of 60 days. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.

If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
