Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary:
Recreation Center Attendants will work under the direction and supervision of the Recreation Center Operations Coordinator and student Recreation Center Supervisors to carry out the overall, day-to-day operations in The Dixon Center and surrounding outdoor recreational facilities. Recreation Center Attendants will largely be responsible for enforcing recreation center policies and procedures, providing a positive customer-service experience for the community, and acting as a first responder in the event of an emergency.
Requirements:
Monitor recreational facilities and enforce recreation center policies and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for recreational activities.
Stay current on fitness and recreation programs and operational procedures to provide exceptional customer service to Villanova community members.
Create a welcoming and positive experience for users.
Check, clean, and assist in the maintenance of fitness and recreation equipment.
Provide basic instruction on the proper operation of cardiovascular and weight training equipment.
Notify appropriate staff members of custodial issues, maintenance needs, and safety concerns.
Assist with facility set-up and breakdown for a variety of events.
Assist with the reservation, distribution, and collection of fitness and recreation equipment.
Launder gym towels.
Enact and/or assist in emergency response. Attend ongoing employee training sessions.

  • May be asked to carry/move fitness and recreation equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 45 lbs.
  • May be asked to perform duties at outdoor recreational facilities, in various seasons with the possibility of inclement weather.
