Recreation Assistant $15/Hour

Location: 3403 Simsbrook Dr, Houston, TX 77045
Schedule: PART TIME 10:00 AM 5:30 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and customer-focused Recreation Assistant to support daily recreational programs, facility operations, and community activities. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with the public, assisting with events, and helping create a welcoming and engaging environment for guests and participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating and overseeing recreational programs, activities, and community events to encourage strong public participation.
  • Lead and assist with recreational classes, games, and organized activities.
  • Support the setup, decoration, and breakdown of facilities for special events, luncheons, dances, and other functions.
  • Open and close recreational facilities according to established procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors, responding to inquiries, and resolving concerns in a professional manner.
  • Answer telephones and assist with scheduling and reservations as needed.
  • Monitor recreational areas and activities to ensure a safe and positive environment for all participants.
Golf Course Responsibilities
  • Answer phone calls and schedule tee time reservations.
  • Monitor golf course activity and assist patrons with questions or concerns.
  • Prepare golf carts for daily use and return carts to storage after use.
  • Perform light golf cart maintenance including checking tire pressure, tightening loose hardware, and monitoring battery fluid levels.
  • Assist with minor golf course maintenance and operation of light maintenance equipment as directed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous recreation, hospitality, customer service, or golf course experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Position may require occasional stooping, bending, and light lifting up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment
