Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) program reflects the latest evidence-based practice in psychiatric rehabilitation. PROS integrate treatment, skills training, vocational rehabilitation, and support to facilitate a participant's recovery. In a safe and caring environment, participants are directly involved in all aspects of their services, from goal setting to individual recovery plan development and implementation. There is a strong focus on participant and family participation as well as evaluation of outcomes. Participants are encouraged to engage in community activities, adult education classes, and other opportunities that strengthen their supports and overall quality of life. PROS also place an emphasis on helping participants find meaningful employment, which is strongly linked to positive mental health.


Position Summary: The Sr. Recovery Advisor is a member of the multidisciplinary PROS team with a primary role of offering individual and group psychiatric rehabilitation services and planning in order to meet the individualized recovery goals of program participants. PROS Sr. Recovery Advisor is a Master's Level professional who is authorized to provide clinical individual and group services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a caseload of designated program participants.
  • Provide individual intake interviews, assessments, recovery planning and provide individual counseling services.
  • Provide targeted psychotherapy or evidence based practice as indicated by participant need
  • Facilitate recovery oriented group services.
  • Provide other individual recovery services as required, including assisting participants with securing benefits, housing, employment, and other basic needs.
  • Provide all services within the values and mission of Equinox Inc.
  • Accurately document all services and maintain timely case records within agency policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with other PROS staff the provision of crisis services and co-occurring disorder treatment.
  • Coordinate participant recovery efforts with collateral contacts and other treatment providers.
  • Promote participants community integration and inclusion.
  • Keep any certifications current and attend workshops, conferences and trainings
  • Attend Workshops, conferences and trainings
  • Supervision of internship students and/or pre licensed staff 
  • Complete CAIRS for clients on a scheduled basis
  • Complete admissions procedures for clients for admittance into PROS
  • Exercise good professional judgment
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries
  • Demonstrate reliability and conscientiousness
  • Strong communication and team building skills
  • Implementation of agency policies/decisions
  • Demonstrate good organization and time management skills
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

 Physical Requirements:

  • Able to sit for long periods of time
  • Occasional lifting of 20 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters' Degree in Social Work or Masters' Degree Mental Health Counseling. 
  • Must be in possession of one of the following in New York State, current licensure as a LMSW , LMHC, LMHC-D, or LCSW
  • Two years' experience of providing individual and group therapy 
  • Knowledge of mental illness, co-occurring disorder treatment and recovery-orientated concepts 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Clean, valid NYS Driver's License preferred
