Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) program reflects the latest evidence-based practice in psychiatric rehabilitation. PROS integrate treatment, skills training, vocational rehabilitation, and support to facilitate a participant’s recovery. In a safe and caring environment, participants are directly involved in all aspects of their services, from goal setting to individual recovery plan development and implementation. There is a strong focus on participant and family participation as well as evaluation of outcomes. Participants are encouraged to engage in community activities, adult education classes, and other opportunities that strengthen their supports and overall quality of life. PROS also place an emphasis on helping participants find meaningful employment, which is strongly linked to positive mental health.

Position Summary:The Senior Recovery Advisor provides leadership within the multidisciplinary PROS team along with a role of offering individual and group psychiatric rehabilitation services and planning in order to meet the individualized recovery goals of program participants. The PROS Senior Recovery Advisor is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the program, coordination of service delivery, regulatory compliance, staff supervision and fiscal viability of the program in the absence of the Program Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and promotes program philosophy and system of values consistent with those of Equinox Inc and the recovery philosophy of the PROS program.

  • Oversees and directs day to day functioning and oversight of the program in absence of Program Manager.

  • Maintain a caseload of program participants.

  • Provide individual intake interviews, assessments, recovery planning and provide individual recovery services.

  • Provide targeted psychotherapy or evidence-based practice as indicated by participant need.

  • Facilitate recovery-oriented group services.

  • Provide other individual recovery services as required, including assisting participants with securing benefits, housing, employment, and other basic needs.

  • Accurately document all services and maintain timely case records within agency policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate with other PROS staff the provision of crisis services and co-occurring disorder treatment.

  • Coordinate participant recovery efforts with collateral contacts and other treatment providers.

  • Promote participants community integration and inclusion.

  • Keep any certifications current and attend workshops, conferences and trainings.

  • Attend Workshops, conferences and trainings.

  • Develops program activities and schedules consistent with PROS philosophy

  • Ensures that staff scheduling covers all program requirements

  • Participate in development of an annual budget

  • Assures incident reporting is timely and meets regulatory standards

  • Conducts weekly staff meetings in absence of Program Manager

  • Represent and reflect Equinox philosophy, values and purposes in the community

  • Participate in intra-agency cooperation and coordination

  • Assists Program Manager in providing outreach to community with goal of increasing and improving referrals to Equinox PROS

  • Participates in the implementation of the agency’s quality improvement program

  • Serves to ensure corporate compliance in behavioral health programming- while protecting patient privacy and safety. Corporate compliance in behavioral health is important for protecting patient privacy and safety, and for ensuring high-quality care

  • Act as site supervisor for internship students (Associates, Bachelors and Masters Level). Provide training, supervision and support to intern students. Network with college or university internship contracts.

  • Create monthly reports for Finance Department monthly.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to sit for long periods of time

  • Occasional lifting of 20 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters’ Degree in Social Work or Masters’ Degree Mental Health Counseling.

  • Must be in possession of one of the following in New York State, current licensure as a LMSW or LMHC, or Permit as Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience preferred

  • Clean, valid NYS Driver’s License preferred

Schedule:Monday through Friday
