Job description

Position title: Records Management Specialist I

Location: Arlington, Virginia

Clearance required: SECRET

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • FOIA Program Management: Assist with the FOIA request lifecycle, including coordinating with requesters, searching for records, working with Counsel on redactions, and preparing response letters.
  • Privacy Act (PA) Program Support: Assist with the PA Program by processing requests, supporting the development of SORNs and PIAs, and assisting with the quarterly Privacy Spot Check.
  • Guidance, Documentation & Web Support: Assist with the development and maintenance of a FOIA/PA desk guide, communicate procedural changes, and assist with maintaining the online FOIA reading room.
  • Records Management Program & File Plan Support: Assist with the ONR Records Management (RM) Program by helping ONR Codes develop RM File Plans and reviewing records for correct SSICs.
  • Records Disposition & Archiving: Assist the ONR RM with the appraisal, disposition, and transfer of official records to Federal Records Centers (FRCs) or NARA, including the preparation and packing of record boxes.
  • Records Search & Digitization: Assist with searching for requested records and scanning documents as needed.
  • At leastย two (2) years of Records Management experience.
  • In lieu of the desired experience, anย associate's degreeย and at leastย one (1) yearย of recent Records Management experience is required.
