This position assists in managing the high-quality production of printed materials that represent University of Idaho, tells the Vandal story and ensures a positive reflection of our brand. This position works collaboratively with the in-house creative team and external clients to ensure products meet or exceed University of Idaho's quality and standards.
Duties may include:
  • Assist with coordinating print and copy projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Review and prepare job tickets for processing
  • Operate and maintain reprographic, bindery and related equipment
  • Assist with monitoring supplies and inventory management
  • Provide customer service, answering questions and helping resolve issues or requests
  • Assist with processing invoices, transactions and billing as needed
  • Assist with delegating tasks, training and overseeing other employees
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications
Required Experience
  • One year operating and maintaining high-speed copiers and bindery equipment
  • One year preparing and outputting digital files to networked printers
  • Using desktop publishing, photo editing, word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Working in a customer service-oriented team to accomplish shared goals

Required Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Other
  • Possess a valid driver's license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university-owned vehicles
Additional Preferred
  • Project management experience
  • Records management and retention experience
  • Knowledgeable about digital printing, dye-sublimation and other specialty finishing techniques
  • Experience in a cost recovery (charge back) business model
  • Experience understanding and applying mathematical concepts
  • Understanding of purchasing and procurement processes
  • Experience and knowledge running digital presses and worked with all types of finishing equipment
  • Experience with business management such as preparing invoices for billing; tracking supply costs; establishing price structures to ensure profit and cost-effective structure; analyzing needs and developing and recommending budget and equipment purchases; researching new products and methods to improve production; preparing estimates for clients
  • Quality assurance experience
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Must be able to:
  • Lift, carry and or otherwise move material up to 50 pounds
  • Distinguish colors, weights and textures such as with various paper stocks
  • Work in an environment with loud noises and odors
