Lakeside Eye Associates is seeking a customer-focused, knowledgeable Optician to join our team in Huntersville , North Carolina.
As an Optician, you'll help patients select eyewear that complements their vision needs, lifestyle, and personal style. You'll educate patients on lens technologies, verify prescriptions, perform optical measurements, adjust and repair eyewear, and ensure every patient leaves confident in their purchase.

What You'll Do:

  • Optical Sales & Patient Care
    • Welcome patients into the optical department.
    • Interpret eyeglass prescriptions.
    • Recommend frames, lenses, and lens enhancements based on patient needs.
    • Educate patients on:
      • Progressive lenses
      • Anti-reflective coatings
      • Blue light protection
      • Photochromic lenses
      • Polarized lenses
      • Specialty lenses
    • Deliver an exceptional customer experience throughout the eyewear selection process.
  • Optical Measurements
    • Take accurate measurements including:
      • Pupillary Distance (PD)
      • Segment Heights
      • Optical Center Measurements
    • Verify prescriptions and ensure finished eyewear meets quality standards before dispensing.
  • Frame Adjustments & Repairs
    • Perform frame adjustments for comfort and proper alignment.
    • Replace screws, nose pads, and temples.
    • Complete minor repairs.
    • Coordinate manufacturer warranty repairs when needed.
  • Insurance & Administrative Duties
    • Verify vision insurance benefits.
    • Explain patient financial responsibilities.
    • Process eyewear orders.
    • Maintain accurate patient records.
    • Coordinate with optical laboratories regarding orders and remakes.
  • Inventory & Merchandising
    • Maintain attractive frame displays.
    • Keep the optical department clean and organized.
    • Monitor frame inventory and reorder as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Sales experience.

Preferred:

  • Previous Optician experience.
