Job description

Description This is specialized work involving the use of data entry and manual filing for the recording, docketing and indexing of documents. This work would include, but not necessarily be limited to, assisting attorneys and the public in following proper procedure, prioritizing assignments, identifying and interpreting documents and procedures as they vary from county to county, state to state and the keeping of statistics for local and state reports. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Records, dockets and indexes all orders for support, alimony pendete lite or post divorce alimony, all petitions, motions, complaints and other pleadings concerning paternity or support.

Performs all certifications. Prepares cases for Court Hearings. Oversees and prepares all appeals for Argument Court and Superior Court.

Issues Orders of Court pertaining to the process of case preparation. Prepares summary and special reports. Assists attorneys and public with filing procedures for Local and State Appellate Systems as they relate to Domestic Relations.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to work and make decisions independently in any given situation Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing. Considerable knowledge of business grammar, spelling, and math. Knowledge of office procedures, personal computers, and general office equipment.

Ability to accurately complete and type records and documents needed for record keeping and reporting purposes. Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with members of the legal profession, governmental agencies and the general public. Minimum Qualifications An Associates Degree from an accredited college or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
