This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) will be assigned to the Air Force Services Center at Port San Antonio, TX.
This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hrs. per week. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Experience and training with accounting auditing, financial analysis, and bank reconciliation, cash balancing and forecasting. Must have experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and similar applications.
Desired Experience:
Progressive experience with reconciling general ledger journal entries and cash receipts/disbursements using bank statements and point-of-sale systems. Experience with interrelations of general ledger accounts and effects of debit and credit transactions on cash reconciliation. Experience with financial analysis practices and procedures and e-business commercial accounting systems. Associates degree in accounting, business, finance, economics, statistics, or related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the interrelationship of accounts and the effects of debit and credit transactions on the overall system of general ledgers.
2. Ability to analyze complex cash reconciliation/banking relationships involving cash deposits, check and electronic fund disbursements and inter/intra bank fund transfers.
3. Knowledge of the relationship between the general ledgers and subsidiary accounts and extensive subdivision of accounts.
4. Experience that has provided the skills and knowledge needed to manage an entire accounting cycle to include reconciliation of subsidiary accounts and cash flow projections and analysis.
5. Ability to motivate, train and mentor a team with a wide variety of backgrounds and training.
