Job description

Recon Coordinator's (RC) leads and coordinates all of the recon processing needs of Wholesale Dealer accounts, Commercial accounts, and Fleet Lease accounts. This work role requires the ability to self-manage, self-motivate and maintain a high sense of urgency with regard to the Wholesale Dealer's weekly auto reconditioning related processing needs.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proper communication and mutual respect with the Sales Representative and Wholesale Dealer are the keys to success.
  • Work in unison the Sales Representative assigned to their accounts.
  • Develop a working knowledge of AutoIMS and ASI along with the ability to generate email communications and/or data entries into AutoIMS and ASI in a clear, coherent and easy to read and comprehend manner.
  • Must be able to develop a close "working relationship" with their assigned Wholesale Dealer account. Wholesale Dealer will accordingly participate in the development of that same "working relationship" and "help the RC ... help them".
  • Recognize and understand their Wholesale Dealer's "Hot Buttons" as well as all of their reconditioning work processing "likes" and "dislikes".
  • Actively participate in the ongoing development of an agile (or more reactive) recon workflow process in order to (i) accommodate each Wholesale Dealer's unique "hands-on" work processing requirements; (ii) meet MKSAA recon processing cycle times; and (iii) meet target "On-spot" and "Sale Day" dates.
  • Ability to identify, manage and resolve any new and/or unknown reconditioning related processing matters that may arise from time to time.
  • Prepare and manage recon work bucket "Spark BI" reports.
  • Prepare a "Commercial Level" CR inclusive of damage amounts, if required, along with the CR grade management that meets the Wholesale Dealer's target grade goals - but that are also in accordance with the MKSAA's CR Grade Policy.
  • Manage/verify all ongoing CR updates and changes - post recon repair pics, post-detail pics, sale day Pipeline photos, etc.
  • Walk and shop units in order to determine the required reconditioning work as outlined by the Dealer Wholesaler's SLA Agreement.
  • Inside-the-gate and outside-the gate recon vendor work order management, coordinate work estimates, recon processing timelines and unit transport to/from any recon vendors.
  • Coordinate and track recon workflow sequencing and processing - from CR to On-spot; keep strict control and track the Wholesale Dealer's inventory.
  • Meet target "On-spot" day/time and walk units in advance of sale day - 1) Sign-off on units: "Sale Day Ready" and 2) Notification to Wholesaler: "Units Ready and On-spot".
  • Communicate target sale day with Sales Dept. - determine the expected sale day and accordingly manage, track and sale day sticker each unit to meet that targeted sale date.
  • Provide necessary information to Sales Dept. as required for them to generate a weekly "Post-sale Scorecard" - sold units, no-sales, times ran, sale rates, etc.

Qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interaction skills required
  • Ability to sit, stand, climb stairs, squat, knee and walk for prolonged periods of time, must be able to lift 5-10 pounds. Vision abilities required
  • Good computer and software knowledge
  • Thrives in a fast paced environment
  • Occasional exposure to weather conditions, fumes, and noises
  • Professional phone etiquette
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented
  • Qualified to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver's license
