Job description

West Wichita Family Physicians is seeking a full-time Receptionist to be an integral part of our clinic. We value patient relationships above all and our receptionists help us build those relationships, while putting important information in our systems that help us provide excellent patient care.
Responsibilities:
  • Assists in other reception areas, Minor Care and Women's Center as needed, directed and trained.
  • Maintains work area and lobby.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Occasional work hours outside 8:00 to 5:00, as requested.
  • Performs related work as assigned by Patient Relations Manager or designee.
  • Greets patients in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Obtains pertinent patient information, scans insurance cards, and updates records accordingly.
  • Documents changes in EMR chart.
  • Answer internal telephone and provides basic information.
  • Locates samples and written prescriptions for patient pick-up.
  • Collects co-pays and payments.
  • Performs closing functions per departmental guidelines.
  • Maintains patient and clinic confidentiality.
  • Schedules follow-up and office visit appointments as needed
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a clinic setting preferred
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and others involved with patient care
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions

The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. We offer a generous paid time off plan, in addition to a suite of employee benefits.
